You can protect your liberties in this world only by protecting the other man’s freedom. You can be free only if I am free. ~~ Clarence Darrow
I am annoyed by a lot of things; probably more things than the average person.

Looking back on my pithy comments and Facebook posts, I was hoping to find a body of work that was clever and filled with the kind of Dave Barry-like gentle humor that would endure me to the masses. “Oh, that Chris. He’s always got something clever to say”. That’s what they’d say when they saw [...]

That is one of the nicest photos of deep-fried turds I’ve ever seen.

chris wrote a new blog post: Best Buy: Where “Best” is relative and “Buy” is rare 1 year, 2 months ago
Several years ago prior to marriage and just after college I couldn’t afford to buy electronics. However, a favorite Saturday afternoon activity was browsing the Audio King and Best Buy stores looking at all the blinking lights and desperately hoping among them was a new Van Halen album release. Somewhere along the way I had [...]

“Bring me Dr. Clown shoes.”
That’s one of many interesting if not bizarre quotes from Charlie Sheen over the last several days.

Ask Mr. Fishwrench: 1 year, 3 months agoSo the last /8 of the IPV4 has been assigned. Will we all be converting over to the 128bit under-supported IPv6 or do you think the estimated 86% of assigned but unused 32 bit IPs will simply be released back into the wild to extend the life of the 4.3 billion ips available in the ipv4 standard?

The Off-Season: 1 year, 6 months agoYesterday, started researching the new ROKU device. Has integrated MLB.tv and of course NetFlix. I’m down to FoxNews as my last solution to fill. It’s the wife’s requirement, I could care less. But if I find a way to get that delivered I could shutdown the satellite.

The Off-Season: 1 year, 6 months agoI see no reason to buy it. Until we get rid of the need for distributors like cable and satellite, there’s no reason for me to add another layer on top. If with an ISP-based TV provider you could pick and choose your own channels– I’d be in. That’s the holy grail though, isn’t it? [...]

If it had a DVR feature, I’d be more inclined to buy it. As a Comcast customer, I can assure you their guide feature is crap. I’d almost pay money to not have to use their guide. In fact, I’ll often watch local channels through Windows Media Center for the guide feature alone. That said, Google TV still doesn’t seem to offer much, other…[Read more]

chris posted on the forum topic Childress: Does He Get Fired Next Week in the group
The Off-Season: 1 year, 6 months agoI don’t think he’ll be fired after a loss this Sunday because we have the Bears in Chicago the following week. We won’t go into a division game without the same coach. He loses in Chicago– then he’s gone for sure. AND that’s not good either as the pack comes here the week after Chicago.

Chris – thanks so much for the question.
When face with this sort of question, I reach for my Ardent Reel! With Ardent, I can rule the water. They’ve never let me down.
Oh, and the internet as we know it is dead. Goodbye 32 bit IPs.
