    During a tournament on Big Marine, I was throwing a 5″ craw tube, and getting bites. I went to set the hook into what felt like could have been a decent fish, and SNAP!!! My Abu Garcia Verdict snapped into three pieces. One piece came back with such force that it left a bruise on my forearm.

    At the end of the tournament, I was in tears. No, not from the pain or because the rod broke. I was crying because this is the third tournament in a series of six where I’ve found myself at the bottom. I think this season can be written off.

    Don’t cry Mr. Fishwrench. I was in the same position at this time last year. Dead last. But the GF doubled up his efforts and found a way to be in contention for 2nd place going into the last tourney, then choking on it and eventually winding up in 3rd overall. Still, way better than last….;)

    Do you still have the pieces? I’d sure like to see them if you do. There are clues to look for that can tell you why it broke.

    I sure do… I’ve been to busy to pack them up and get them back to Abu. They have a 3-year warranty. I’d like your thoughts on the break before I send it back though.
