Boating 6 months, 3 weeks agoA good ole West Virginia boy won a bass boat in a raffle drawing. He brought it home and his wife looks at him and says, “What you gonna do with that. There ain’t no water deep enough to float a boat within 50 miles of here.”
He says, “I won it and I’m a gonna keep it.”
His brother came over to visit several days later. He sees the wife…[Read more]

Boating 7 months, 4 weeks agoThat might be a really good alternative to the Shell in Shakopee. I’ve learned there are no detergents in the stuff at Shell. That’s not all bad, but it doesn’t help to clean anything inside the engine. A […]

Boating 8 months agoActually, while they turned the the Mobil into a Holiday (the one by Davanni’s) and took away the non-oxygenated gas, I also found out that the Holiday station in EP kind of over by the Home Depot and […]

Boating 8 months ago@fishhawk notified me that the Mobil in Eden Prairie, MN is now a Holiday. Like most other Twin Cities holiday stations, there is no longer non-ethanol fuel. Another loss for the good guys.

Boating: 10 months, 1 week agoIt seems like non-oxygenated pumps are getting harder to come by in the metro area. This may be a good spot to keep some sort of list. Feel free to add to it if you know where a guy can find some non-ethanol gas for his boat. The only two stations I know of are [...]

Boating: 11 months, 1 week agoI would say you are definitley losing some speed if your prop is at all beat up. If those ears get dinged up, lose cup or the edge isn’t sharp is basically like losing the edge on your knige and your prop is slipping. The entire weight of your boat is holding on the edge [...]

Boating: 11 months, 1 week agoLast year’s low water around the Twin Cities metro made for some crunchiness coming from the back of my boat in and around boat launches. There wasn’t any severe damage done to my prop, but there are a few dings and dents in the stainless steel. I’m sure I’m losing some speed, but just a [...]

Boating: 1 year agoI like ramp stories. Giving advice is nice, but it usually just pisses the person off. I remember a few years ago at Minnetonka there was a self proclaimed launching expect letting people know what they were doing wrong. He was about 3 in front of me taking out about a 24 foot Searay. Very [...]

Boating: 1 year agoPatience with people and offering a helping hand works better than sitting in the truck bitching. Remember to pass it forward this season, not all people are as experienced as some, and a helping hand will go farther than sour grapes. Not all will accept help, or advice, but not attempting to help would be [...]

Boating: 1 year agoI’m borrowing a forum topic from another site (yikes!), but thought it appropriate given the new fishing season is upon us. Every year, I’m witness to some nut, newbie, or the plain unprepared screwing up traffic at the ramp, while providing some comic relief for the rest of us. So, here are a couple of [...]

Clearly, you powerloaders have caused extensive environmental damage at great cost to the taxpayers of this state. -

Boating: 1 year agoNot powerloading the Skeeter would be tough. I’d have to sink the bunkers, allowing my boat to float to the roller, latch it on, and then get in the water to make sure the boat comes out straight. There’s no way to load straight when the boat has to float. Loading my boat would have [...]
